Joe Biden might be leading in the polls, but he doesn’t seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. He has a long history of gaffes and confusion while speaking, but this latest episode might take the cake. While attending a fundraiser for his campaign last night, he mentioned the terrible mass shootings that took place this weekend. The only problem? He didn’t even know where they occurred.

According to recent polls, Joe Biden has strong lead over his Democratic rivals. He is at 34% in a Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)/Harris poll and at 32% in a Politico/Morning Consult poll (via Daily Wire). Every far-left candidate running is trailing him by a wide margin.

There might be several reasons for this. One, Biden appears far more moderate than the likes of Sanders, Warren, and Harris. Most of the Democratic candidates are pushing for free health care for illegals and radical changes to our economy. Two, many Democrats might feel more comfortable supporting Obama’s VP, even though the former president has yet to endorse him.

I’d say it’s a long shot that he could beat Trump, considering the president’s massive success. But there is another reason Biden won’t win in 2020.

Biden hasn’t stopped his long history of making bizarre and easily-avoidable gaffes. Ones that make you question just what’s going on in that head of his.

This Sunday he attended a fundraising dinner at a supporter’s home.

The fundraiser for his presidential campaign took place at the home of businessman Mark Arabo, who is an advocate for persecuted Iraqi Christians. Around 75 attendees at the fundraiser received a three-course meal before the vice president’s remarks, and listened to Biden speak in a marble-tiled living area with two chandeliers as they sat in rows of white chairs. While he spoke, Biden offered sympathy to the victims of this weekend’s shootings. But his statements were little… off.

Former Vice President Joe Biden misstated the locations of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, while speaking to donors at a high-dollar fundraiser in San Diego on Sunday night.

Biden, 76, mistakenly referred to the shootings as “the tragic events in Houston today and also in Michigan the day before,” but later corrected himself, according to a pool report. This may seem like an innocent gaffe, but this should concern you. Biden wants to be the next President of the United States, but he couldn’t get the facts straight from recent events.

This isn’t like trying to remember a piece of trivia from American history. These events happened just a few days ago. They were broadcast on the news for two days straight. Anyone that was paying attention would know what happened, when, and where.

Biden couldn’t remember that the first shooting was in El Paso and the second was in Ohio. He said the one in “Michigan” happened first, then the second in “Houston.” Wrong on both counts, Joe.

These were horrific tragedies that took the lives of almost 40 Americans. And Biden screwed up the facts that bad?

Does he not watch the news? Were his aides giving him bad information. Or is it, as I fear, that his mind is no longer sharp?

Remember when Hillary Clinton couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs? Or when she collapsed at a memorial and was throw into a van like a sack of potatoes? Are we getting a repeat of that? Could Biden be suffering from something serious affecting his memory?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a president who can’t think or remember. It might have just been a simple gaffe. But would you mix up important details of such drastic and recent events?
