Nancy Pelosi started this impeachment circus after she officially backed an inquiry last month. Without support from the House, she allowed Adam Schiff to conduct closed-door hearings, just to find dirt on the president. Now, this unauthorized (and perhaps illegal) move has put Pelosi in the hot seat. Over forty groups are calling for her head.
I think we can all agree that this impeachment inquiry has gone on long enough. Adam Schiff has been secretly conducting meetings, interviewing former members of the Trump administration. But he’s got nothing. The very call the left is trying to use to impeachment Trump was released to the public. We all know Trump did not pressure Ukraine’s president to do anything.
Yet despite the overwhelming proof that Trump is innocent, Pelosi and her goons keep up this sham. Pelosi bucked every last norm when she authorized this “inquiry.” She refused to let the House vote on it. Worse than that, she and Schiff refuse to name Trump’s accuser or give the president due process—a right every American has.
All these gross violations of our values have reached a boiling point. Pelosi thought she could get away with plunging our Congress into chaos. Instead, she is facing a serious ethics complaint, signed by numerous groups. They are demanding nothing short of an investigation.
A coalition of conservative groups has filed an ethics complaint against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D.-Calif., alleging she has “hypocritically usurped” the authority of the president and “weaponized” impeachment proceedings.
“In launching her ‘official’ impeachment inquiry without benefit of a vote of the full House of Representatives and without indicating anything remotely qualifying as ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors’ that is the subject of the inquiry, Speaker Pelosi has weaponized impeachment,” reads the complaint, led by Tea Party Patriots Action’s Jenny Beth Martin and signed by 40 different groups…
“If she now understands that before going any further, the full House of Representatives must make its impeachment inquiry legitimate by the casting of votes, she is tacitly admitting that what came before is illegitimate,” the complaint states. “Consequently, all ‘evidence’ gleaned during this portion of the ‘investigation’ must be discarded for the sake of fairness.” [Source: Fox News]
This complaint is completely reasonable. Impeaching the President of the United States affects every last American. But Pelosi has overstepped her authority as a congresswoman to try to take down Trump.
She is not working with the entire House to confront an actual abuse of power. She is the one abusing power, creating this circus simply to give the liberal media an excuse to tarnish Trump’s reputation.
We know that Trump has scored unprecedented wins for the country over his first term. There is not a single Democrat running for president that can come close to his achievements. The ONLY way the left can have a shred of a chance is if they use the liberal media to discredit Trump. The best way to do that? Report night and day about an “impeachment” that isn’t really happening.
The complaint also points out how Pelosi seems to be completely ignoring the real violations made by Joe Biden. Violations he has bragged about in the past. While vice president, Biden actually pressured Ukraine to fire their top prosecutor—a man investigation Biden’s son’s company.
Oh, no problems with that, Nance? Clearly, she has one standard for Democrats and another for the rest of us.
The ethics complaint is calling for the Office of Congressional Ethics to launch its own inquiry… into Pelosi’s misconduct. I’m all on board with that.
For far too long, Democrats have run amuck in D.C., with zero consequences. Democrat congressmen and women lie, cheat, and outright steal (not to mention sexually harass staff). But time and again they get a pass because their buddies protect them.
It’s time for that to end. It’s time for the swamp to be drained. If the House doesn’t investigation Pelosi, then we need a new House.
Come 2020, you know what to do.
