Democrats continue to use the crisis to attack Donald Trump. Their latest narrative (backed by the media) is that Trump was distracted by impeachment as the virus spread around the world. But the timeline proves something very differently. And now Trump is firing back at the do-nothing Democrats.

Nobody knows everything about this disease. Doctors on the front lines are learning more every day. We are developing treatments as we speak. And the White House task force is developing tools and strategies for bringing us back from the brink.

What we do know for sure is that word of this virus began way back in 2019. Reports came out in November that the virus was spreading in Wuhan, China. But the communist government suppressed the news, only admitting the truth much later. The federal government acted quickly soon after to protect the country.

Today, the media and Democrats claim Trump acted slow to respond to the virus. That he was too focused on impeachment. But the president is firing back.

President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that impeachment did not affect his ability to respond to the coronavirus, but it had distracted Democrats…

“I don’t think I would have done any better had I not been impeached, ok… I don’t think I would have acted any faster. But the Democrats, their whole life, whole being, their whole existence was to try and get me out of office any way they can, even if it was a phony deal — and it was a phony deal.” [Source: Breitbart]

What was really going on in our country, as the virus spread around the world?

Even though we heard reports about the virus through the end of 2019, China only admitted its first death on January 11, 2020. A few days later, Nancy Pelosi voted to send her articles of impeachment to the Senate. On January 21, the first American was confirmed to have the disease.

January 23, the House managers spoke before the Senate, pushing for the removal of Trump from office. January 23, China finally closed off Wuhan to limit the spread of the disease. January 27, the White House convened their virus task force. Two days later, President Trump met with his task force. The next day, senators conducted questioning during impeachment trial.

On January 30 (two months after this virus appeared), the WHO declares a global health emergency. January 31, Trump declares a national health emergency and shuts down the border to China. That same day, the Senate voted on more witnesses during the impeachment trial.

So, who was really distracted by impeachment? The House Democrats got around to the virus on February 5, many weeks after we learned it was a real threat. (Dates verified by Breitbart).

It’s obvious that during the critical time we could have been preparing for this outbreak, the idiot Democrats were pushing their impeachment trial. The entire country was snared in their garbage agenda, when we could have been taking action.

Democrats have no legs to stand on, in this argument. Trump was the first leader in the country to respond. He might have been able to move even faster, had Democrats not wasted time on impeachment. We might have been able to get testing and containment in February, a month earlier. We’d be in a very different situation now, had we not been burdened by the impeachment push and the trial.

We talk a lot about how Democrats’ bad leadership endangers Americans. We are seeing that come true in real time. Because the Democrats wasted time with impeachment, Americans are dying. The entire country is suffering. Our economy is frozen.

What would have happened if Democrats pushed for emergency action back in December? Or even January? What if we closed the border a month sooner and got testing out in early February?

I guess we’ll never know. But we can be assured that everything we’re suffering now is the left’s fault.
