As the media continues to try to stoke fears over the virus, many are demanding an end to the shutdowns. But many local and state leaders push policies that rob Americans of liberty and punishes small businesses. Now, a state Supreme Court justice is calling out their lockdown orders, calling them tyranny.
Don’t be fooled. The mainstream media—and their minions in government—will continue to say the sky is falling over COVID-19. It doesn’t matter how many or few are infected. It doesn’t matter if deaths continue to decline and the virus runs its course. The left have a chance with this crisis—and they’re going to milk it for all its worth.
Liberals want to increase the damage done by this pandemic. That’s why many of them are treating law-abiding Americans like criminals. They want their economics broken, their states in shambles. For one, it’s to get as much money from the federal government as possible. And two, it lets them keep the economy crippled, hurting Trump’s re-election.
But we can all agree it’s gone too far. Threat of a disease is no reason to strip Americans of their liberties. Millions of lives have already been ruined. Our only hope of recovery is to get back to work, now. Yet many states are extending their lockdowns beyond any logical reason. So, at least one state Supreme Court justice is fighting back.
A conservative state Supreme Court justice in Wisconsin suggested Tuesday that the extension of the state’s stay-at-home order was the “definition of tyranny” and compared it to U.S. internment camps for Japanese-Americans during World War II.
“Isn’t it the very definition of tyranny for one person to order people to be imprisoned for going to work, among other ordinarily lawful activities?” Justice Rebecca Bradley said…
“The people never consented to a single individual having that kind of power,” Bradley said.

The only way for these lockdowns to be overturned, in some places, if for judges to do it. We know that some mayors and governors will never reopen. Their cowardice and greed will drive their states to the very brink. In some cases, they’ll go right over. Unless the judicial branch intervenes, they will keep their states under house arrest indefinitely. Don’t believe me? Some states have pushed their lockdowns until July. Others have talked about not reopening schools in the Fall.
Bradley is right. We never gave a single person the power to just shut down our country. Not even the president has that kind of power. Yet we just sat back and let mayors and governors push us around like we had no rights.
Disease or no, we have to be a country. We can’t survive if the majority of people stay locked up in their houses. It might have been reasonable for a week or two. But months? This is the definition of insanity.
They say more will die of COVID-19. But what about the millions who can’t get a diagnosis for other diseases? What about countless workers who are losing the ability to pay for health insurance? What about the families who can’t put food on the table? Or the people who can’t make rent, car payments, or pay for other basic necessities?
The real crisis is pretty clear. And it has nothing to do with a virus from China. It has everything to do with getting Americans back to work—and taking a hard look at what we let our elected leaders do.
Every last leader that refuses to reopen needs to find a new job, come November.
