Many were shocked when a Texas mom was sentenced to jail, just for opening up her salon. The woman was forced to choose between staying in lockdown or feeding her family. An Obama-loving judge ordered her to pay a massive fine and spend a week in jail. Numerous leaders have expressed disgust over the ruling. Now, the Texas Lt. Governor is stepping in.

I think it’s safe to say these lockdowns have gone too far. Democrat leaders have turned themselves into dictators, quick to punish Americans at the drop of a hat. They are harassing law-abiding Americans, while releasing criminals from jail. Let that sink in.

Although the goal of the lockdowns was met: to prevent hospital’s from being overwhelmed, many states continue to push for stay-at-home measures indefinitely. It’s clear the left is using the crisis to abuse their power.

But the last place you’d think to see this kind of injustice is in freedom-loving Texas, right? Wrong. Not everyone in the Lone Star state is a red-blooded patriot. Although the governor has instituted a plan to reopen the state, an Obama-loving judge threw the book at a woman for just trying to feed her family.

Now, the lt. governor of the state says he’ll take her place, so she can be with her family on Mother’s Day.

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick said on Wednesday that he will be paying the $7,000 fine that Dallas authorities gave to salon owner Shelley Luther for violating a stay-at-home order, and also volunteered to serve her 7-day jail sentence so that she could go back to work.

Patrick made the remarks after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton blasted Dallas County Judge Eric V. Moyé, who is a Democrat political activist, in a statement for abusing his power by jailing Luther for opening her business so she could feed her family.

“I find it outrageous and out of touch that during this national pandemic, a judge, in a county that actually released hardened criminals for fear of contracting COVID-19, would jail a mother for operating her hair salon in an attempt to put food on her family’s table,” Paxton said in a statement. Apparently, Judge Moye has a reputation for discriminating against anyone he suspects to be conservative. In a state like Texas, that must mean he’s sending a lot of Americans to jail for no reason. This is certainly the case with Shelley Luther. The woman had suffered tremendously, thanks to the state’s shutdown order.

Like so many others, she couldn’t provide for her family, because her salon was forced to close. Should any American judge punish a woman for just trying to make ends meet?

Consider this: that this same county was releasing hardened criminals from jail at the same time! Are these judges insane? How can you punish someone for working, while releasing violent criminals back onto the streets?

Patrick’s offer is inspiring and a mark of true leadership. Not only is he willing to pay the unreasonable fine levied at Luther, but he’s willing to undergo house arrest, so this mom can work and enjoy Mother’s Day.

What kind of cruel monster would punish a woman for just trying to work? Oh right, he’s a Democrat that hates conservatives. Hmm… perhaps the state of Texas needs to revisit how they select their judges? Because actions like this are totally unacceptable.

The governor himself expressed distain for the ruling. Perhaps he will pardon Luther? Regardless, this is yet another example (among many) of why these lockdowns must end, immediately.
