After the events of January 6, Democrats quickly moved to impeach Trump. The reasoning was obvious: Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts did not want anyone looking too closely at what they did (or didn’t do) on that momentous day. Sure, some idiots like AOC wanted Americans to think they were under siege, but House Democrats wanted all eyes on Donald Trump.
You see, if we all just believed the left’s narrative, that Trump incited a riot, then we wouldn’t bother asking other important questions. Questions that would put a spotlight on Democrats, particularly those Democrats who are responsible for the securing of the Capitol Building.
But now that the left’s bogus impeachment has failed, Republicans are starting to demand answers. And they’re starting with the old gal herself.
Several congressional Republicans sent a letter Monday pressing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for answers about issues related to the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol building…
“When then-Chief Sund made a request for national guard support on January 4th, why was that request denied?” the lawmakers asked Rep. Pelosi, a California Democrat. “Did Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving get permission or instruction from your staff on January 4th prior to denying Chief Sund’s request for the national guard?”
Among the other questions posed by the GOP congressmen, they asked, “What conversations and what guidance did you and your staff give the Sergeant at Arms leading up to January 6th specific to the security posture of the campus?” [Source: Just the News]
Jim Jordan, along with several other tireless Republican defenders in the House, are demanding to know what Pelosi was doing leading up to the January 6 breech. The inconvenient reality is that the Speaker of the House is responsible for coordinating and enforcing security of the Capitol Building and, in effect, the rest of the city.
Soon after the riot, Pelosi called up tens of thousands of National Guardsmen (many of whom have not gone back home). So, why did she not bother to do anything on the day of January 6, when we know the FBI and other law enforcement were aware of threats?
Even if Pelosi didn’t know what the FBI knew, why wasn’t she prepared? It was a big day. All of Congress was assembled for the vote. And a massive Trump rally was being held just minutes away. Anyone with half a brain would have assumed that heightened security would have been in order.
But Pelosi apparently did nothing. And when a few idiots “stormed” the Capitol Building, both the police and other security appeared powerless to do anything. Why was that?
Jordan blasted Pelosi saying she has refused to answer “many important questions” about what she was supposed to do on that day. Was Pelosi neglecting her duty? Or did she know there could be trouble, but let it happen anyway?
Did the Capitol Police not stop the riot sooner, because of previous rioters that were allowed to go on? Did Pelosi create a cluster storm of chaos, because of her past comments and stance on left-wing riots?
We don’t have the answers to any of this, because Pelosi hasn’t given them. If Democrats can go so far as to (wrongly) impeach Trump over this—shouldn’t the speaker be held accountable too?
