Pro-Trump lawmakers are taking over!
A strong supporter of the former president has announced plans to lead a primary challenge to oppose one of Trump’s most vocal critics, Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill.
Catalina Lauf is a sign of what’s to come. With the Republican Party currently split between establishment RINOs and Trump loyalists, this congressional hopeful is a breath of fresh air.
“We’re seeing the country’s turmoil manifest itself in Congress,” Lauf said in a phone interview.
“The Republican Party currently has representatives like Kinzinger who would rather use his platform discussing another phony Trump impeachment and the censorship of Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene,” Lauf continued.
Lauf took to twitter to make her announcement to run against Rep. Kinzinger. On Tuesday, she filed paperwork with the FEC to establish a fund-raising committee for 2022.
Fake Republican Adam Kinzinger won’t put AMERICA FIRST— I will.
That’s why I’m challenging him for his seat in Congress
I am the daughter of LEGAL immigrants, a small business owner, & PROUDLY served in the Trump administration.

Kinzinger was one of the leading voices amongst the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump following the Capitol protests on Jan. 6. He is also one of the House Republicans who joined forces with Democrats to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene of her committee assignments.
Republicans in his home state have railed against Adam’s anti-Trump stance.
Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski voiced his support for Lauf on twitter:
Strong candidate in @CatalinaLauf. She can win and will support the America First Agenda. https://t.co/nXrA6pMILe

An appointee in the Trump administration’s Department of Commerce, Lauf spoke during the opening night of the Republican National Convention last August, just months after her failed primary bid.
Lauf said she supported Trump’s stances on illegal immigration, including a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and has said she did not oppose legal immigration.
