Sen. Ted Cruz spoke out on Wednesday claiming that the lockdowns throughout the country have hurt millions of small businesses and people, proving to be a “serious mistake.” He contrasted the county’s situation with that of Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott recently opened his state in full, which Cruz praised as “great news.”

Cruz spoke on Fox program “Mornings With Maria”, saying that the states residents are “ready to get back to work,” and adding that he believed that everyone could stay safe while social distancing rather than resorting to “destroy[ing] millions of jobs.” Cruz also pointed to how children have been hurt while schools have been shut down at Democrats insistence. He called out the hypocrisy of the left, saying that “Democrats like to say follow the science, they are not following the science.”

Cruz also took aim at the $1.9 trillion relief bill that’s headed for Congress, claiming it’s a “liberal wish list.” which will enrich Democrat “cronies.”
