On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed that Biden’s Executive Orders cracking down on Second Amendment rights were only the beginning; there’s more to come as the president intensifies the war on guns.
“There will be more. That is absolutely his commitment, and he also will use the power of his presidency, his voice, his political will to advocate for actions in Congress.”
The White House outlined the “initial actions” Biden is set to take in an effort to cub gun rights:
- Order the Justice Department to issue a proposed law to end the proliferation of “ghost guns.”
- Instruct the DOJ, within 60 days, to issue a proposed rule to outlaw stabilizing brace that effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle
- Demand the Department of Justice, within 60 days, to publish recommendations for “red flag” legislation for states.
Biden made the false claim that adding a stabilizing brace to a pistol made the weapon “more dangerous” because it becomes “more accurate.” Biden is forgetting that an ability to aim accurately, not a stabilizing device, is the driving force behind a weapon’s precision. A brace does not make a weapon “more lethal” since it does not change the rate of fire or velocity of the bullet.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other Republican lawmakers have balked at Biden’s orders, calling them “wholly unconstitutional.” He encourages Governors and state lawmakers to challenge Biden’s orders.
