In the aftermath of the 2020 Election, it seems some Republicans thought Donald Trump was a goner. Several conservatives (all D.C. swamp insiders) attacked Trump, blamed him for the “insurrection,” and claimed the party had to move on.
Very quickly, however, we learned Trump was going nowhere. His influence since January seems to be only increasing within the GOP. He has made several appearances at conservative events, drawing the attention of the entire world. Republicans eager for endorsements and support flock to Mar-a-Largo, just to meet with the man.
And those Republicans who turned their backs on him? Yeah, they’re quickly regretting the decision. A few have tried to salvage their reputations, but they might be goners. Only a few continue to defy the 45th president, doubling down on their anti-Trump rhetoric.
So, Trump himself is striking back, calling out these RINOs, who just might lose upcoming elections.
Former President Trump issued statements on Monday targeting House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney and Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney…
“So nice to see RINO Mitt Romney booed off the stage at the Utah Republican State Convention,” the former president said in a statement. “They are among the earliest to have figured this guy out, a stone cold loser!”…
Trump in a Monday statement said: “Heartwarming to read new polls on big-shot warmonger Liz Cheney of the great State of Wyoming. She is so low that her only chance would be if vast numbers of people run against her which, hopefully, won’t happen. They never liked her much, but I say she’ll never run in a Wyoming election again!” [Source: Just the News]
Many have speculated whether or not Trump will return to politics in 2024. But clearly, he never left. While he hasn’t announced a re-election bid, he has vowed to help America First candidates sweep in 2022. Republicans are just a few wins away from retaking the House and Senate. But Trump is not satisfied with just any old Republicans taking those seats. He wants to make sure candidates that embrace the MAGA movement will be in Congress.
That’s why he’s calling out swamp dwellers like Romney and Cheney. It would be very easy for the media to just ignore what these “Republicans” have done—or even support them. But Trump is casting a great big spotlight on these RINOs, so that voters never forget where they stand.
Both of these politicians, along with a few others in the party, push the media’s line that there was no fraud in the 2020 Election. They almost appear supportive of Biden and his shady agenda. Voters need to remember that, when 2022 comes around. They can’t support candidates who ignore actual fraud and injustice—and will not fight for Americans.
Neither Romney nor Cheney appears willing to admit their wrongs. In fact, they are hoping voters forget what they did.
But Trump’s going to make sure these two own their sins, for years to come.
