Donald Trump did the impossible by producing a life-saving vaccine in record time. His “Operation Warp Speed” was able to produce three viable COVID-19 vaccines that were ready by the end of 2020. His administration wasted no time in rolling out doses to the most vulnerable Americans. By December of last year, millions had already been vaccinated. His goal was to have the vaccine available to all Americans by April of this year.
When Joe Biden took over, all hell broke loose. The incoming administration was clearly not up to the task of getting the vaccine out to Americans. The April goal was pushed back to May, as reports came out that the White House had lost track of at least 20 million doses. States, mostly blue states, struggled to effectively handle their rollouts.
Despite this, Biden claimed he would get 70% of all Americans vaccinated by July 4th. I guess he saw the success Trump was having and just assumed it would continue under him. He wouldn’t have to do anything, I guess. But, pathetically, Biden fell short of this goal and is struggling to get the job down.
And Trump is explaining why.
Trump criticized Biden’s efforts, saying that Americans do not trust his administration, the results of the 2020 election, or “the Fake News.”
The statement from Trump’s Save America PAC reads, “Joe Biden kept talking about how good of a job he’s doing on the distribution of the Vaccine that was developed by Operation Warp Speed or, quite simply, the Trump Administration. He’s not doing well at all. He’s way behind schedule, and people are refusing to take the Vaccine because they don’t trust his Administration, they don’t trust the Election results, and they certainly don’t trust the Fake News, which is refusing to tell the Truth.” [Source: Just the News]
Biden is trying to come up with a plan to get people vaccinated, so that at least in one area his administration won’t look like a total disaster. His talk of “door-to-door” vaccines has been met with criticism and anger. Americans don’t like the idea of the government coming to their home and demanding they take a shot they don’t want.
We’ve reached a point where the vaccine is plentiful and readily available. Anyone that wants a shot can get one. The reason why some people are avoiding the vaccine? Many seem to be mistrustful of getting this shot. They are not convinced it will help them, in fact some believe it will hurt them.
That is entirely Biden’s fault. He has failed to convince Americans the vaccine is safe and reliable. His FDA, after all, hastily rejected the Johnson & Johnson vaccine early on. And the dishonest media has done its usual bang-up job trying to manipulate people into getting vaxed.
Donald Trump is right to criticize Biden. The 45th president did the impossible by getting the vaccine ready and by ensuring Americans got it quickly. For Biden to fumble everything up so quickly proves just how bad he is at this job.
It should have been a slam dunk for Biden. Instead, it is yet another embarrassing failure, for an administration know for failure.
