Bernie Betrays Pelosi, Demands Democrats Vote for Massive Socialist Bill

Although all might seem lost, there are a few silver linings on Capitol Hill. One is the fact that Democrats are falling apart at the seams. While it appears they are marching forward with their radical plans, the liberal party is struggling to hold the ranks and get their agenda done.

Nancy Pelosi has been trying to strongarm her party into voting for Biden’s radical spending bill. She has been holding hostage the bipartisan infrastructure bill, linking it to Biden’s socialist package. For months, she would not let the House vote on the one without the other. Moderate Democrats and Republicans pushed back.

Recently, she caved, announcing the House will vote separately on the infrastructure bill. Perhaps Pelosi, incapable of holding the party together, just desperately needed something to get passed. But Bernie Sanders was on hand to torpedo her efforts.

On Tuesday, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) urged House Democrats to vote against the upcoming infrastructure bill on Thursday, unless Congress first passes the controversial $3.5 trillion reconciliation package.

“Let’s be crystal clear. If the bipartisan infrastructure bill is passed on its own on Thursday, this will be in violation of an agreement that was reached within the Democratic Caucus in Congress,” Sen. Sanders tweeted. “More importantly, it will end all leverage that we have to pass a major reconciliation bill. That means there will be no serious effort to address the long-neglected crises facing the working families of our country, the children, the elderly, the sick and the poor.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Sanders admitted the only leverage Democrats had in getting Biden’s toxic $3.5 trillion deal passed was by holding the infrastructure package as hostage. But he is clearly defying his own party, by calling on the House to vote against the infrastructure tomorrow. It seems like Bernie cares more about his own agenda than letting anything get passed.

We all know that Biden’s spending policy was shaped by Bernie’s radical, left-wing advisors. It came out last year that Biden had been consulting Bernie on his plan during the election. Apparently, Biden just agreed to whatever crackpot idea Sanders’ people came up with. The “Biden” spending package is really everything socialist Bernie Sanders wants forced onto the country.

Sanders is calling on his “House colleagues” to shoot down Pelosi’s latest plan and vote against the bipartisan infrastructure deal. While that will certainly “send a message,” it will mean death for both bills. It’s hard enough to get legislation passed, even when there is strong support for it. Most of the time, Congress only has a small window to get this kind of thing done.

If House Democrats (let’s be honest, AOC and her progressive cronies) vote against the infrastructure bill, that’s the end of it. If they kill it here, it might not come back. And that means the larger spending bill is DOA.

What Bernie’s doing might sound like an uncompromising commitment to his agenda, it’s really suicide. Bernie doesn’t seem to understand that compromise is necessary to get anything done in D.C. He is willing to go down with the ship, like a stubborn old man. Perhaps that’s why Democrats always cut him out of the presidency?
