SCOTUS Momentum Grows, Rep Scalise Promises to Push Pro-life Bill if House Flips

Democrats thought that leaking the Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade would help them in the midterms. Chuck Schumer is forcing a vote on a pro-abortion bill, claiming it will hurt Republicans’ election chances. The left seems to think that ending Roe would help their cause as if most Americans are eager to elect people who love killing babies.

Republicans have no problem voting down Schumer’s bill. And it will be a very bad thing if Democrats make abortion their main issue for this election. Conservatives know what most people feel about this heinous practice. In fact, one Republican House member is doubling down, promising to push a major pro-life bill if Republicans retake the House.

House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) said on Wednesday that the GOP will address the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act on day one if the party wins control of the House during the midterm elections…

“I hope that the ruling comes out soon and I hope it’s the ruling that was leaked. I’m disappointed that there was a leak,” Scalise said during the press conference…

Scalise has promised to address the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, should Republicans retake the House after the 2022 midterms. The bill requires doctors to provide a “degree of care” to a child who survives an abortion. It is a reasonable measure that protects a child who is alive, despite an abortion procedure.

Democrats killed the bill. This should come as no surprise since the far left is pushing for even more extreme abortion policy than we already have. Some progressives want full-term abortion or even post-birth abortion, meaning killing a child who was just born. Of course, they don’t support a bill that requires doctors to care for a child who survived an abortion.

The fact that Scalise is openly talking about pushing this agenda proves Republicans are in no way hurt by the SCOTUS news. If Democrats make abortion the main issue going into the midterms, it will be a huge win for Republicans.

Democrats will promise to pass abortion legislation at the state and federal levels. They will make their party—unquestionably—the party of abortion (there are still pro-life Democrat voters in America). All Republicans have to do is promise to pass pro-life bills, if they retake House and the game’s over.

While liberals support abortion to some degree, few support abortion on demand. And even fewer support acts as heinous as full-term abortion or post-birth abortion. If Democrats stake their claim on an evil and outdated practice that most Americans despise, they’ll lose worse than we were already predicting.
