A new CNN poll just dropped and it contains the kind of number that should make every Democratic strategist in Washington update their resume on LinkedIn. Twenty-eight percent. That’s the percentage of Americans who view the Democratic Party favorably. Fifty-six percent view it unfavorably. Those aren’t poll numbers — that’s a going-out-of-business sale.
Unbelievable. Even their own voters are bailing. Democratic trust in party leaders to “do the right thing on the economy” cratered from 80% in April 2024 to 39% in April 2025. That’s a 41-point collapse in twelve months. You know what else drops that fast? Anvils. In cartoons.
So what’s the Democratic Party’s master plan to claw their way back into the hearts of the American people? Impeachment! Again! Several Democratic lawmakers are now openly calling for Trump’s removal — either through impeachment or the 25th Amendment — because he used strong language while telling Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face consequences.
That’s their pitch to America. The President just forced a hostile regime to surrender after a five-week military campaign, the stock market is having its best day in a year, oil prices are dropping, and Democrats want to remove him from office because he said something mean.
Senate Democratic leadership issued a “condemnation” of Trump’s rhetoric — without actually committing to any procedural action, because even they know this is political suicide. It’s the legislative equivalent of writing a strongly-worded Yelp review. “One star. The President was rude to a terrorist regime. Would not recommend.”
Meanwhile, over in Iowa, Democrats can’t even agree on who should run for Senate. State Senator Zach Wahls and State Rep Josh Turek are tearing each other apart, with Wahls accusing Turek of being Chuck Schumer’s handpicked puppet and Turek firing back about dark money. Down in California, they’re fighting over a congressional seat like seagulls over a French fry. Marni von Wilpert versus Ammar Campa-Najjar, complete with super PAC money flying everywhere and finger-pointing about who’s the “real” progressive.
This is a party that can’t agree on candidates, can’t agree on strategy, can’t agree on whether to actually impeach the President or just threaten to impeach the President, and can’t crack 30% favorability with the general public. But sure — they’re definitely going to flip the Senate in the midterms. Any day now.
The Washington Times ran a column this week with the headline “Democrats show themselves clueless on matters of war.” And honestly, that might be the most generous assessment anyone’s given them lately. They spent five weeks screaming that Trump’s Iran operation was reckless, illegal, and would lead to World War III. Then Iran surrendered, the Strait reopened, the markets exploded upward, and Democrats were left standing there with their protest signs looking like the guy who shows up to a party the day after it ended.
Townhall called them a “clear and present danger to the nation.” Star Parker’s column laid it out: the Democratic Party has become so consumed with opposing Trump that they’ve forgotten to offer Americans a single reason to vote FOR them. Their entire platform is “Trump bad.” That’s it. That’s the whole thing.
And Americans have noticed. Twenty-eight percent, folks. That’s lower than the approval rating for Congress, which is saying something because Congress’s approval rating is usually somewhere between “root canal” and “jury duty.”
The 2026 midterms are seven months away, and Democrats are heading into them with no message, no unity, no credible candidates in key races, and an approval rating that would embarrass a cable company. Their response to a president who just won a war, crashed oil prices, and sent the Dow soaring 1,300 points is to call him names and wave around the 25th Amendment like it’s a magic wand.
Here’s a free piece of advice for the Democratic National Committee: when 72% of the country thinks your party is headed in the wrong direction, maybe — just maybe — the problem isn’t the other guy. Maybe it’s you.
But they won’t listen. They never do. And come November, they’re going to find out what 28% looks like on Election Day. Spoiler: it looks like a bloodbath.
