President Trump is demanding the DOJ launch a full investigation after 500,000 illegal mail-in ballots were sent out in Maryland — and frankly, the only shocking part is that anyone's shocked. We've been told for years that election fraud is a "conspiracy theory," and now we've got a zip code's worth of bad ballots floating around a single state like confetti at a parade nobody asked for.
But sure, tell us again how the system works perfectly.
Trump took to Truth Social to drop the hammer: "In Maryland, they sent out 500,000 illegal mail-in ballots, and they got caught!" He followed up with the part the media will conveniently forget to mention: "In addition, many of these Ballots went to Democrats, so any Republican running in Maryland doesn't have a chance!" Funny how these "errors" always seem to break in one direction, isn't it?
The mess traces back to a vendor error affecting Maryland's gubernatorial primary mail-in ballots. The Maryland State Board of Elections issued a statement with all the urgency of a DMV clerk on a Friday afternoon, saying they were "working with the vendor" to maintain "the highest level of confidence and accuracy in mail-in voting." Confidence. That's rich.
Maryland State Administrator of Elections Jared DeMarinis tried the damage-control two-step, telling reporters, "We are diligently working to address this error... Mail-in voting is an integral facet of the electoral process." An "integral facet." Translation: we're not getting rid of the thing that keeps breaking, so just trust us harder.
The cutoff date for affected voters was May 14, 2026, meaning half a million replacement ballots had to be rushed out while the state pretended everything was under control. Governor Wes Moore — a Democrat, naturally — has been conspicuously quiet about the whole debacle. Nothing to see here, folks. Just move along.
Trump also told reporters what most of us already know: "We're the only country in the world that's doing mail-in ballots... mail-in ballots, just by the nature of them, are going to be corrupt." He's not wrong. Most developed nations figured this out decades ago. But we're supposed to be the dumb ones for asking questions.
Here's what really grinds my gears. Every time we bring up election integrity, the left trots out their army of "fact-checkers" and "experts" to explain why you're a dangerous radical for noticing a problem. Then 500,000 bad ballots show up in one state, as reported by LifeZette, and suddenly it's just an oopsie. A glitch. A vendor error. Nothing systemic. Move along.
Five hundred thousand. That's not a rounding error. That's not a couple of ballots that got lost in the mail. That's a number so large it could swing any election in the state — and every honest person knows it.
The DOJ needs to investigate this like their credibility depends on it — because it does. And if they won't, we'll remember that, too.
