President Trump is fed up with states looking for a handout during this crisis to cover for their bad choices.
Some liberal states have defied ICE and allowed sanctuary cities, which can cost a lot of money.
But that choice may be coming back to bite them—Trump might leave them out in the cold for wasting taxpayer dollars.
During a recent White House event with business leaders, the President discussed the possibility of a second stimulus check for U.S. taxpayers.
Then he switched gears and talked about bailout money for state governments.
Via The Daily Caller:
President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that he may withhold federal bailout funds from states with cities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
‘The problem with the states is we’re not looking to recover 25 years of bad management and give them the money they lost. That’s unfair to other states,’ Trump said.
I agree with that statement, don’t you?
Sanctuary cities have been a sore spot for the Trump administration, and perhaps rightfully so. Why are we protecting those who came here unlawfully?
As far as Trump is concerned, this might disqualify states for COVID aid:
If it is COVID-related, we can talk about it, but we want certain things also, including sanctuary city adjustments.
We have so many people in sanctuary cities, which I don’t even think they are popular even by radical left because people are being protected that shouldn’t be protected and a lot of bad things are happening with sanctuary cities.
Here’s the bottom line:
If states don’t clamp down on cities that refuse to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), they may not receive any bailout money at all.
There are many Americans who support that idea, I bet. Why should they get taxpayer money if they’re essentially breaking federal law?
Our Commander-in-Chief is a logical guy: if you don’t follow federal law, you don’t deserve aid.
It makes perfect sense to me, anyway. What do you say, fellow patriots?
