Two videos appear to show protesters in Washington, D.C. harassing people eating at outdoor restaurants who are not raising their fists.

Videos posted by RawsMedia Monday and Tuesday portray two separate incidents in which protesters surround people eating at restaurants and yell into their faces.

A video posted Monday shows a woman seated at a table wearing a mask surrounded by protesters who chant “white silence is violence” while they hold their fists high in the air. The woman remains seated and appears to say something to a man standing next to her, the video shows.

The man, who has his back to the camera, leans down to towards woman’s face as the crowd continues to chant “white silence is violence” and “no justice, no peace.”

Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Alaina Gertz told the Daily Caller News Foundation she could not provide information on the incidents.

“If any individual feels threatened or in a dangerous situation in the District of Columbia, they should immediately call 911 so an officer can respond to the incident,” Gertz told the DCNF.

Washington Post reporter Fredrick Kunkle identified the woman in the video as urban planner Lauren B. Victor, saying that Victor said: “I felt I was under attack.” Kunkle also said the incident took place in Adams Morgan.

“In the moment, it didn’t feel right,” Victor said, according to Kunkle, though she added that she understood the protesters’ anger. “I wasn’t actually frightened. I didn’t think they’d do anything to me. I’m very much with them. I’ve been marching with them for weeks and weeks and weeks.”

Victor did not immediately return the DCNF’s request for comment.

A separate video shows a couple, a man and a woman, seated at a table outside Mezcalero Cocina Mexicano on 14th street as a woman repeatedly yells at them. The young man puts on his mask as the protester continues to yell at him in the video.

People inside the restaurant can be seen staring out the windows at the spectacle, and the video pans over to show a man seated next to the couple who is raising his fist high in the air and looking at the table.

“Protesters says people who don’t raise there fist is a white [supremacist],” RawsMedia captioned the video.

WATCH:

Another video posted early Tuesday morning shows protesters marching down the streets of DC outside restaurants chanting “no justice, no peace.” The protesters thank bystanders who raise their fists in the video.

“That’s what the fuck we’re out here for!” someone shouts.

The footage shows a masked woman and a masked little boy raising their fists high in the air. “Thank you, little man,” one of the protesters said in the video. “Good job, little man, good job.”

Jobless claims for the past week were lower than economists had predicted as workers begin returning to their jobs, data from the Labor Department shows.

The total number for jobless claims for the week ending in July 4 was 1.3 million, according to the Labor Department data, which is 99,000 fewer claims than the previous week.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had predicted 1.39 million jobless claims, according to CNBC.

Continuing claims dropped 698,000 from a week ago to 18 million after the previous week’s 530,000 drop, the outlet reported.

The week ending in July 4 marked the 15th consecutive week that initial claims were above 1 million, CNBC reported, and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program claims increased by 42,000 from a week ago, totaling 1.039 million.

Despite the better than expected numbers, this marked the 15th consecutive week that initial claims totaled above 1 million.

News of the weekly jobless claims follows June jobs report numbers showing that the U.S. added 4.8 million jobs in June, while the unemployment declined to 11.1 percent.

These numbers mark the second month of both increasing jobs and dropping unemployment since the country lost a record 20.5 million jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic closures.

May’s unemployment rate had declined by 1.4 percentage points from April’s 14.7 percent, which was the highest unemployment rate since at least 1948.

“These improvements in the labor market reflected the continued resumption of economic activity that had been curtailed in March and April due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it,” the report said.

“In June, employment in leisure and hospitality rose sharply.

“Notable job gains also occurred in retail trade, education and health services, other services, manufacturing, and professional and business services.”

China has threatened to sanction United States politicians for criticizing the country’s coronavirus misinformation.

In a report published by China’s Global Times Thursday, unnamed analysts warn that four U.S. Congress members will be put on China’s sanctions list, including Republican Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri and Tom Cotton of Arkansas.

The report also mentions a number of other prominent Republican politicians who have criticized China’s mismanagement of coronavirus information, including Reps. Dan Crenshaw of Texas and Jim Banks of Indiana.

“The Chinese government is lashing out at those in the U.S. who are appropriately trying to hold them accountable for intentionally misleading us about the nature of the novel coronavirus, where it was spreading and how quickly things were getting out of control,” Banks told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “I consider their threats a badge of honor.”

Hawley expressed similar sentiments, saying in a Thursday tweet: “Now #China threatening to sanction me personally. Badge of honor.”

The unnamed sources mentioned in the Global Times report said that Republicans “who have been groundlessly accusing China and inflaming the ‘holding China accountable’ political farce will face severe consequences.” The sources warned that those consequences could affect not only the November elections but also business between Missouri and China.

“China won’t just strike back symbolically, but will impose countermeasures that will make them feel painful,” the publication reports.

Spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian accused Americans of failing to properly fight the coronavirus and instead blaming others and shifting responsibilities on China. The spokesman also noted that American media has begun exposing Republican attacks on China.

“Chinese side urged the US side to stop blaming and smearing China, stop pushing forward anti-China bills and stop acts of abusing litigation against China and focus on safeguarding American people’s lives and health,” Lijian said, according to China’s Global Times.

  • Lawmakers accused Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday of paving the way for coronavirus cash to flow to Planned Parenthood.
  • The House Democrats’ HEROES Act removes taxpayer safeguards in the Paychecks Protection Program that previously disqualified Planned Parenthood from receiving aid, they said.
  • Republican lawmakers criticized Pelosi for the move in statements to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • “Speaker Pelosi is working overtime for her donors in the abortion industry,” Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks said.

Lawmakers accused Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday of removing protections in her $3 trillion coronavirus bill preventing cash flow to Planned Parenthood.

The House Democrats’ HEROES Act, the most recent coronavirus relief package proposal, includes language that removes taxpayer safeguards in the Paychecks Protection Program (PPP) that previously disqualified Planned Parenthood from receiving aid, they said.

These safeguards were previously added by President Donald Trump’s administration to block Planned Parenthood from receiving coronavirus aid.

“Not content with giving a special bailout for Washington lobbyists, Pelosi seems determined to rip up a bipartisan compromise on a vital small-business aid program in order to funnel billions to the abortion industry,” a senior administration official told the Daily Caller News Foundation on Wednesday.

“President Trump has been working tirelessly to provide relief to America’s working men and women, while protecting the unborn,” the official added. “Once again, we’re seeing that the Left will do whatever it takes to force their radical agenda on the American people, even leveraging a global pandemic.”

“The Paycheck Protection Program is for small businesses,” Republican Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse told the DCNF. “There’s nothing small about Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion business. Nancy Pelosi shouldn’t try to shovel cash to Big Abortion’s corporate lobbyists while Americans suffer.”

Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton also criticized the Democratic House speaker, noting that her “1,800-page wish list includes a big payout for the abortion lobby.”

“The Democrats want the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, to qualify for taxpayer money meant for small businesses, churches, and charities,” Cotton added. “Congress ought to devote every cent of federal funding to life-saving causes, instead of paying off purveyors of death.”

Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks told the DCNF that “Speaker Pelosi is working overtime for her donors in the abortion industry.”

Pelosi is demanding that taxpayers who are already suffering financially must “fork over cash” to abortion providers, Banks continued.

“I can’t believe I need to spell this out for my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, but cash-strapped Americans don’t want to pay for abortions, send cash to illegal immigrants or have their hard-earned cash used to subsidize coastal elites or failing blue state pension systems,” the Indiana congressman said.

The HEROES Act also appears to categorize abortion clinic workers as “essential,” by defining essential workers as those who work in “physician offices, community health centers, rural health clinics and other clinics, hospital outpatient departments, freestanding emergency departments, ambulatory surgical centers, and other related settings.”

Pelosi’s “$3 trillion wish list” is not about helping those suffering from the pandemic, March for Life Action president Tom McClusky told the DCNF in a statement.

“It is an election scheme focused on helping pro-abortion Democrats win in 2020,” he said. “Her proposal includes the removal of safeguards in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) that prevent taxpayer money from bailing out the billion-dollar abortion-giant Planned Parenthood — an organization which has dedicated $45 million this cycle to electing pro-abortion politicians, like Pelosi, who will do their bidding.”

“The bill would also allow federal tax dollars to pay for abortions through subsidized health care plans,” McClusky added. “And, at the state and local level, it authorizes over $900 billion in open-ended funding — so nothing would prevent this money from further subsidizing the abortion industry. This bill would be [a] disaster for the unborn.”

Pelosi did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that the Trump administration can continue stripping federal funding from clinics that offer abortions.

The court upheld the Trump administration’s June 2019 declaration that taxpayer-funded clinics must stop referring women for abortions or be stripped of their Title X funding.

Judge Sandra Ikuta wrote Monday’s majority opinion, stating that “there is no ‘gag’ on [nondirective] abortion counseling.”

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) followed the decision in June by alerting clinics that it would enforce the administration’s ban. Planned Parenthood withdrew from the Title X federal family planning program, thereby forgoing about $60 million a year, in August 2019 rather than comply with this decision.

The rules, which advance President Donald Trump’s promise to stop funding businesses that perform abortions, require that organizations that perform abortions and make abortion referrals will have to do so in separate buildings from those that receive Title X federal funds.

“Today’s ruling is a vindication of President Trump’s pro-life policies and a victory for the American people,” Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement, adding that abortion is not family planning and that “a strong majority of Americans” oppose taxpayer-funded abortions.

“President Trump’s Protect Life Rule honors their will and the plain language of the Title X statute by stopping the funneling of Title X taxpayer dollars to the abortion industry, without reducing family planning funding by a dime,” Dannenfelser added. “We thank President Trump and HHS Secretary [Alex] Azar for their strong pro-life leadership and look forward to the end of further frivolous litigation by the abortion lobby.”

Americans United for Life (AUL) President and CEO Catherine Glenn Foster said in a statement that AUL is “grateful that the court of appeals has seen through the false cries of the abortion industry and upheld a rule that protects women’s health as well as taxpayer’s consciences.”

“We look forward to the implementation of the rule in a way that ensures that no public funding is ever used for elective abortions,” Foster said.

Other organizations, such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), protested the ruling.

“The rule prohibits family planning clinics — which previously served as the source of health care for more than four million low-income people every year — from providing Title X patients with referrals for abortion care and imposes other onerous requirements that have resulted in the widespread loss of critical Title X providers,” the ACLU said in a press release.

ACLU senior staff attorney Ruth Harlow noted that the ACLU is “deeply disappointed” at the decision.

“We are looking at any further options to rescue the Title X program and to restore the critical care it has provided to marginalized patients for almost five decades,” Harlow said in a statement.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said Sunday that he will not be “lectured on family values” by the likes of radio host Rush Limbaugh or Trump supporters.

The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor spoke on “Fox News Sunday” with anchor Chris Wallace, who brought up separate comments Limbaugh and “America First” host Sebastian Gorka made on Feb. 12 about Buttigieg’s stances on abortion and electability.

“A gay guy, 37 years old, loves kissing his husband on debate stages. Can you see [President Donald] Trump have fun with that?” Limbaugh asked, while Gorka questioned, “Why is a homosexual man lecturing us about the sanctity of life in the womb? Just a little curious there, strange.”

“What is your reaction to those comments?” Wallace asked Buttigieg.

The gay presidential candidate responded: “I am in a faithful, loving, committed marriage. I’m proud of my marriage, and I’m proud of my husband.”

He added:

And I’m not going to be lectured on family values from the likes of Rush Limbaugh or anybody who supports Donald J. Trump as the moral as well as political leader of the United States. America has moved on, and we should have politics of belonging that welcomes everybody. That’s what the American people are for. And I am saddened for what the Republican Party has become if they embrace that kind of homophobic rhetoric.

Buttigieg also commented on whether Americans would vote for a gay presidential candidate and noted that he came out as gay while Vice President Mike Pence was governor of Indiana.

“We didn’t know what would happen. I’ll tell you what happened,” he said.

“I got reelected with 80% of the vote in my generally Democratic but socially conservative community, more than I had the first time that I ran for office,” he continued, adding:

“When it comes to LGBTQ issues … the most important thing is not the treatment of candidates, it’s what’s happening to individuals and families across the country from brave service members who have their careers threatened by this president.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s son allegedly frequented a Washington, D.C., strip club where his “baby mama” worked around the time he was in a relationship with his dead brother’s wife.

Hunter Biden, 49, allegedly frequented Mpire Club, located in the heart of D.C. in Dupont Circle, where Lunden Alexis Roberts worked, who went under the stage name “Dallas,” sources told The Post, Page Six reported Wednesday. The sources told the publication that Roberts worked at the club around the time she became pregnant.

Several Mpire workers reportedly said they recognized 28-year-old Roberts.

Mpire is located blocks away from the strip joint Archibald’s Gentlemen’s Club, where employees told the New York Post they suspect Hunter Biden used the VIP room to smoke crack.

DNA test results confirmed Hunter Biden is the father of former basketball player Roberts’s baby, a motion filed Nov. 20 in Independence County, Arkansas, on behalf of Roberts said. Roberts filed a petition for paternity and support for her 1-year-old baby in May, the Daily Mail reported. Hunter Biden denied the allegations in August and requested the court dismiss the allegations altogether.

Hunter Biden reportedly fathered Roberts’s child while in a relationship with his late brother’s wife, Hallie Biden. Hunter Biden and Hallie Biden’s relationship ended in April, and Hunter Biden would go on to marry Melissa Cohen in a surprise wedding in May, Business Insider reported.

The November motion stated that “DNA testing has established with scientific certainty” that the defendant is the father of the plaintiff’s child and that Hunter Biden “is not expected to challenge the results of the DNA test or the testing process.”

Roberts said the baby’s “paternal grandfather, Joe Biden, is seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party for President of the United States of America” and is considered “by some to be the person most likely to win his party’s nomination and challenge President [Donald] Trump on the ballot in 2020.”

The Biden campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

DNA test results confirmed Wednesday that Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden, is the father of former basketball player Lunden Alexis Roberts’s baby, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Hunter Biden, 49, is the father of Lunden Alexis Roberts’s baby, a motion filed Wednesday in Independence County on behalf of Roberts shows. Roberts, who is 28 and a former college basketball player, filed a petition for paternity and support for her 1-year-old baby in May, the Daily Mail reported. Documents filed by Roberts’s attorney Clint Lancaster show Hunter Biden eventually agreed to take a DNA test that confirmed his paternity, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

The Trump Team congratulated 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden on his new paternity in a Wednesday tweet, saying, “Congratulations, Joe Biden!”

“So far the Democrat Presidential field is 0-2 with DNA tests,” tweeted Trump War Room Rapid Response member Abigail Marone.

A California court overturned the conviction Friday of a five-time deported homeless illegal immigrant who shot Kate Steinle in 2015.

The 1st District Court of Appeals ruled that the trial judge erred in not giving the jury “the momentary possession instruction,” NPR reported.

“It is undisputed that defendant was holding the gun when it fired. But that fact alone does not establish he possessed the gun for more than a moment. To possess the gun, defendant had to know he was holding it,” the appellate court wrote, according to NPR.

Jose Ines Garcia-Zarate was deported five times before he shot Steinle on a San Fransisco pier in 2015. Zarate was a seven-time convicted felon and Mexican national. Before he shot Steinle, Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer for Zarate with the San Francisco sheriff’s office. The office did not honor the request, according to former Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan’s statement.

Steinle’s death ignited national debate over illegal immigration and was a major talking point for President Donald Trump during his campaign.

A jury acquitted Garcia-Zarate of the charge of murdering Steinle in November 2017 but convicted him of being a felon in possession of a gun.

His attorneys argued the shooting was an accident — that Garcia-Zarate found the gun under a bench, accidentally caused the gun to fire, and the bullet ricocheted off the pier and hit Steinle, who was walking about 78 feet away with her father.

Garcia-Zarate himself admitted to firing the shot that killed Steinle at the trial but said it was an accident, saying the gun “went off.”

Under the gun possession conviction, Garcia-Zarate faced three years in prison. He now faces immigration and gun charges. His defense attorney Tony Serra said Garcia-Zarate may be tried locally on a state gun charge, according to NPR.
