A member of the White House’s economic task force has spoken out against future lockdowns and the shuttering of businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic. During a recent interview, economist Stephen Moore claimed the U.S. is recovering, but not as quickly as he would like.

Moore went on to say that America needs to get running again. He suggested lockdowns did not work the first time, so they won’t work a second time.

The economist also criticized House Democrats, who are trying to pass a $3 trillion stimulus package, for standing in the way of the president’s progress.

“Nancy Pelosi says ‘no’ to all of those things. She doesn’t want to do anything, in my opinion and in the opinion of the people at the White House I am talking to. The last thing Nancy Pelosi wants is to help the economy in the fall, because they want to win the election.” – Stephen Moore, economist

Moore added he has advised the president to go around Pelosi as much as possible through executive action.

A West Virginia Veteran Affairs hospital employee is facing life behind bars after admitting to taking the lives of several elderly veterans.

Former nursing assistant Reta Mays pleaded guilty on Tuesday to seven counts of second-degree murder and one-count of assault with intent to murder, following a two-year investigation into the mysterious deaths of eight veterans in Clarksburg.

Mays admitted to injecting the eight patients with fatal doses of insulin between July 2017 and June 2018.

She worked as a nursing assistant from 2015 to 2018, where she was responsible for checking the vitals of patients. This included testing many veterans glucose levels.

Investigators found seven patients had died as a direct result of the former nurse’s actions, following complications with their blood sugar.

“It was determined that the defendant injected exogenous insulin into the eight victims causing seven of them to die from the resulting effects of hypoglycemia,” explained William Powell, U.S. district attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.

U.S. Attorney Bill Powell, center, announces at a news conference Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Clarksburg, W.Va., that Reta Mays, 46, of Harrison County, W.Va. pled guilty to murder and assault in the deaths of eighth veterans under her care in federal court in Clarksburg, W.Va., Tuesday, July 14, 2020. However, attempts to kill the eighth victim seemingly failed at first as prosecutors could not directly relate his death to May’s admitted overdose injection.

“The eight victim died two weeks after the hypoglycemic event and we were unable to prove the cause of death beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Powell. “And, therefore, the plea in count eight is assault with intent to commit murder.”

Authorities reported all victims died after entering into a hypoglycemic state, which was brought on by dangerously low blood sugar.

Prosecutors first pressed for a life sentence for each count of murder. However, the district attorney said Mays will be sentenced to one life-term in prison as part of her plea deal.

According to new records, top Obama administration officials lied about what took place in Benghazi. This month, Judicial Watch released a report that uncovered new emails from the White House.

The records followed a FOIA lawsuit from the non-profit group, which was filed in 2016.

Several weeks after an attack in Benghazi left four Americans dead, Obama official Ben Rhodes sent an email detailing how the administration would manipulate the intelligence. This came after then National Security Adviser Susan Rice told reporters the attack was “spontaneous.”

The emails revealed the administration allegedly knew the attack was not spontaneous, but lied to increase Obama’s chances of reelection.

“They didn’t want it known widely that it was a terrorist attack, the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans, something that could have been prevented,” stated Tom Fitton. “They didn’t want all that known, so they lied.”

Another email from Rhodes suggested the official joked about being called a “liar” and a “leaker.”

Conservative critics have expressed skepticism over a recent poll posted by CNN, which showed Joe Biden with a clear lead over President Trump. Thursday saw the most recent release of presidential polls in several battleground states, including North Carolina.

The poll in question was conducted by Siena College on behalf of the New York Times. It showed Biden polling at 49% favorability between June 8th and 18th, compared to 40% for President Trump. That poll has a reported margin of error of 4.1%.

Pundits were quick to point out the sampling size of the poll was fairly small, surveying just 3,870 registered voters in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida, Arizona and Wisconsin.

These results were vastly different from the polling average conducted by Real Clear Politics, which showed Biden with a near 2% lead on President Trump.

A recent Gravis poll, conducted on behalf of One America News, showed President Trump leading Biden in the Tar Heel state. Those results showed the president with a 3% lead, at 46% to 43%, which fell roughly in line with the Real Clear Politics average.

Furthermore, the Gravis/OAN poll also revealed that a larger number of respondents leaned Democrat. This information could signal that Biden may be losing popularity among members of his own party in North Carolina.

In the meantime, President Trump has criticized so-called “suppression polls” from the mainstream media, which he claimed are politically motivated.

According to the president, fake news outlets have been putting out false numbers to downplay popular support for the Trump administration.

The president added that these “suppression polls” have never been worse.

President Trump’s physician touted the potential benefits of him taking hydroxychloroquine.

In a memo released Monday, Dr. Sean Conley said after reviewing evidence regarding the drug he and his team have concluded the benefits of using it outweigh the potential risks.

This coincides with the president telling reporters Monday that he requested the drug from the White House physician and has been taking it for over a week now.

“I’m taking it…hydroxychloroquine..right now,” he stated. “A couple of weeks ago I started taking it because I think it’s good, I’ve heard a lot of good stories and if it’s not good, I’ll tell you.”

“You’re not going to get hurt by it…it’s been around for 40 years for malaria, for lupus, for other things,” the president continued. “…frontline workers take in…a lot of doctors take it.”

The memo also said President Trump is in “very good health” and continues to be symptom-free from coronavirus. Dr. Conley said he will monitor studies regarding hydroxychloroquine and will continue to check on the president’s health.
