Fox Business’ Trish Regan snagged herself an exclusive copy of the letter that President Donald J. Trump sent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Ergodan on October 9, asking the NATO ally to not slaughter the Kurds unless he wanted to face dire economic consequences imposed by the Trump administration.

“Dear Mr. President, Let’s work out a deal! You don’t want to to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will. I’ve already given you a little sample with respect to Pastor Brunson,” the president said. Andrew Brunson was a captured American pastor held by the Turkish government. President Trump used a mixture of diplomacy and economic pressure to get him freed.

“I have worked hard to solve some of your problems. Don’t the world down. You can make a great deal,” the president continued.

“History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way,” President Trump stated. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don’t happen.”

“Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!” he said before signing off, “I’ll call you later.”

As Cortney covered earlier, Vice President Mike Pence is heading to Turkey to try and convince Turkey to stop attacking the Kurds.

At a press conference with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Trump expressed confidence in Vice President Mike Pence’s upcoming meeting with Turkish President Erdogan as he attempts to broker a deal to stop the bloodshed. Erdogan has so far rejected a ceasefire.

Pence, Trump said, is “a very capable man.”

However, if Pence isn’t successful, Trump said his economic sanctions against Turkey will be “devastating.”

Trump added that U.S. troops “shouldn’t be over there.”

I said a week ago that “perhaps the poshest position a politician can find him or herself in is the leader of the Democratic presidential primary.” I forgot to say that the second poshest position you can be in is a leftist global elite up for re-election. That privilege is so special, you can get caught wearing blackface on multiple times and still be endorsed by America’s first black president. We have also heard for three years now how awful it is to interfere in a foreign election. The left has said its always wrong when our political leaders try to pressure foreigners to act one way or the other. Well, President Barack Obama didn’t seem to care about either Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s questionable make-up nor in election interference. He just endorsed Trudeau ahead of Canada’s upcoming election.

“I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President,” President Obama tweeted. “He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term.”

Leftists and their allies in the media love to push the Obama-Trudeau “bromance” every chance they get.

It’s unlikely that any media will ask Obama or Trudeau about the blackface episode again. They left that task to elementary school girls as I wrote about last week.

Obama probably won’t be questioned on the bogus accusation of foreign election interference either. Trump probably would be, but that’s not the point. The larger point is that Obama knows he won’t be taken to task by the mainstream media on any of those things simply by virtue of being a progressive.

On this story, yet again, it seems like our parody news websites predicted the future. In September, in wake of the first photos of Trudeau being released, the Babylon Bee released an article titled, Ralph Northam Assures Trudeau His Political Career Will Suffer No Consequences Whatsoever. Northam, of course, is the Virginia Democratic governor who admitted to wearing blackface on multiple occasions last winter.

It’s almost like our fake news websites are more accurate than our “real” news websites. Must be nice to be a leftist. You get a pass and a slap on the back for everything you do.

A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll released Thursday shows that more Americans trust the Trump administration than the media and Congress as a whole.

“The poll of 1,123 Americans was conducted with live telephone Oct. 3 through Oct. 8, 2019,” according to NPR and asked a series of questions related to President Donald J. Trump’s presidency. When asked, “How much do you trust Congress: A great deal, a good amount, not very much, not at all?” 66 percent of Americans said they trust Congress “not very much/not at all.” 31 percent said they trusted Congress a “great deal/a good amount.”

When asked the same question regarding trust about the media, 69 percent said they trusted our news “not very much/not at all.” 29 percent of Americans said they trusted the media.

For the Trump administration, these numbers faired better. 40 percent of Americans said they trusted the 45th president’s executive branch. 59 percent said they distrusted the administration.

As pointed out by political strategist Ryan Girdusky, this poll also shows a rising number of Americans, 50 percent compared to 47 percent in September, say that President Trump has strengthened America’s economy.

The poll also found that at this point in their presidency, more Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction under President Trump than under President Barack Obama. In this poll, 35 percent of Americans believe the U.S. is headed in the right direction. In September 2011, just 22 percent of Americans felt the nation was headed in the right direction.

However, as pointed out by NPR, there are also signs that impeachment is becoming favorable among independents. “In late September, more independents disapproved of the inquiry than approved, by a 50-44% margin. Now, in a reversal, more independents approve of the inquiry than disapprove, by a 54-41% margin, a net change of 19 points,” Domenico Montanaro writes.
